Default 1 quick idea to fix ha and quickly

Instead of having 3 consecutive annihilation/priest maps, why doesnt aNet put like a 1v1 altar cap (just an idea), or any maps that dont involve annihilation/priest as the second map. It is true that this update is going to be a pain for all the unexperienced groups, but it will encourage balanced builds/non-gimmicky-builds. Farming 3 maps is already boring, but imagine having to farm the first map again and again...

Would that work?

If this is successful, with all the gimmick teams gone and unable to gain rank then who will be left to play?

People who play builds like iway and sway dont care about what map they get to, they just want a tiger without having to be good.. so they will farm the 1st map if they have to.

I've been tempted to try to get into HA, but i am unranked (havent started trying yet) and the co-leader of my guild (no leaving).

I know i have no chance of getting into HA due to PLAYERS not accepting me, which is not Anets fault. the OPs suggestion could work as far as i understand it and i see nothing wrong with implementing it in order to increase diversity.

well... maybe we make the first map a non-annihalation type map? then that takes out all the farming builds right from the start.,.. ? then we can have all the face to face games we want after that

This might have worked if HA was always active, like this weekend... when I play normally half the time I don't even get to see the second or third map. Skips from UW to courtyard or halls are fun -.-

i always get skips to courtyard or beyond. it;s quite naff really. oh, i got 0 fame cause i haven;t played since thrusday night and still won;t get any until after the weeekened ends... which is like in 1 hour or so

What makes you thing that teams that lose to sway or other huge pressure fame-farming builds will all of a sudden ba able to stand up to taht pressure n an altarcap? Do their monk suddenly get better because they have to heal the ghost too?

Actually, they will collapse and get rolled just as fast.

King of the hill will indeed not work because if you cannot handle the pressure in annihilation, you sure won't handle it in king of the hill.

as for capture points : it is a possibility, but don't forget escape rangers split rather well, so chances are if you get rolled 8v8, you'll also get rolled in split situations.

People wants fancy emotes, and will go a long way to achieve that. If you change the first map to another game objective, they'll just find ways to get past that and farm the other 2 maps just as fast.

To start with 3 1v1 killing maps is not good I think. Remove Fetid and get unholy temples between uw and burial.

When I said altar cap, it was just an exemple, Horace clearly understood what I meant, put any map as the first, second or third that is not annihilation or priest.

Yea perhaps there should be a 1vs1 or maybe 3way capture the tower map, they could call it idk 'Broken .... something'

Then they'll stack their build to farm that objective, which would probably be even easier.
